A grab turns your excavator or crane into a versatile machine for sorting, loading and moving material. Sorting grab, clamshell grab or bulk grab?

Which grab you need depends on the material. A sorting grab has open, robust shells to pick up and sort rubble, wood, pipes and scrap. A clamshell (orange peel) grab with several tines is built for scrap, demolition waste and bulk, while a bulk grab moves loose, granular materials such as soil and gravel. Demolition, sorting and recycling

The grab is used across many jobs. In demolition you pull and sort structural material, concrete and steel; on recycling sites you separate waste streams and load containers; and in landscaping you handle logs and pruning waste. You choose the right grab based on the tonnage class of your machine, the weight of the grab, the hydraulic flow and whether you need a rotator. A grab that is too heavy overloads your machine, while one that is too light costs you output. The shape and volume of the shells also matter: open shells for sorting, closed shells for bulk. A grab only performs at its best when it is well matched to the machine. We match the grab to the right quick coupler, CW connection and tonnage class, and check the flow and the functions for rotation and closing. Maintenance and wear parts

A grab lasts longest with timely maintenance and the right wear parts. Grease the pivot points and the rotator regularly, check the cylinders and hoses and replace blades and teeth on time, so the closing force stays up.
