Grabs for excavators, cranes and material handlers
A grab turns your excavator or crane into a versatile machine for sorting, loading and moving material. At Riverland Parts you will find grabs from brands such as Kinshofer, HYDRARAM, Demarec, Verachtert and Mustang, in a range of sizes and weight classes. From sorting rubble and scrap to loading bulk and moving logs, the right grab lets you work faster and more accurately. Most versions are rotating, so you place material exactly without repositioning the machine. We match every grab to the tonnage class and hydraulic flow of your machine.
Sorting grab, clamshell grab or bulk grab?
Which grab you need depends on the material. A sorting grab has open, robust shells to pick up and sort rubble, wood, pipes and scrap. A clamshell (orange peel) grab with several tines is built for scrap, demolition waste and bulk, while a bulk grab moves loose, granular materials such as soil and gravel. Not sure which grab suits your work best? Our specialists are happy to help.
Demolition, sorting and recycling
The grab is used across many jobs. In demolition you pull and sort structural material, concrete and steel; on recycling sites you separate waste streams and load containers; and in landscaping you handle logs and pruning waste. Because you control the shells precisely, you keep valuable streams cleanly separated, which increases your recycling yield. Combine the grab with other attachments and you turn your machine into a real all-rounder.
Choosing the right grab
You choose the right grab based on the tonnage class of your machine, the weight of the grab, the hydraulic flow and whether you need a rotator. A grab that is too heavy overloads your machine, while one that is too light costs you output. The shape and volume of the shells also matter: open shells for sorting, closed shells for bulk. Our specialists help you find that balance, so you work efficiently without giving up safety or service life.
Matched to your quick coupler and tonnage
A grab only performs at its best when it is well matched to the machine. We match the grab to the right quick coupler, CW connection and tonnage class, and check the flow and the functions for rotation and closing. That way you switch safely between, for example, a grab and a bucket without leaving the cab. Not sure about the connection of your machine? Send us your machine type and we will find it for you.
Maintenance and wear parts
A grab lasts longest with timely maintenance and the right wear parts. Grease the pivot points and the rotator regularly, check the cylinders and hoses and replace blades and teeth on time, so the closing force stays up. We supply the matching blades, teeth, pins, bushes and hydraulic parts, so you fix wear without replacing the whole grab. Take a look at our parts category or ask us for the right wear part.

Frequently asked questions
Which grab fits my excavator or crane?

What is the difference between a sorting grab and a clamshell grab?
A sorting grab has two open shells to pick up and sort objects, while a clamshell grab has several tines that close around scrap and bulk.
Are the grabs rotating?
